Gramatik, Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1

The wait is over. The beats are here. Gramatik’s “Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1” is finally available for download. Our favourite producer from Slovenia has done it again. Following the incredible “No Shortcuts”, “Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1” does not dissapoint! With his huge beats and one of the most unique sounds out there, this album is impossible to turn off. I think it should have come with a warning attached as it is truly addictive.

After the release of “So Much For Love” I have been counting down the days till the albums release and it was worth the wait. A personal favourite has to be the slightly faster “Happiness On A Leash”. The beat in “While I Was Playin’ Fair” is something exception and I can’t sit still while listening to the swing vibes of “Moar Jive”.

These tracks are a foundation for some outstanding mash-ups and bootlegs as we have come to expect from Gramatik’s work. We will inevitably see the internet scattered with remixes sampling these tracks so prick up your ears and keep your eyes peeled, I have a feeling we’re in for a treat.

It is rare these days to come across an album which satisfies from start to finish; this is one of those rare moments. There is not a single track on “Beatz and Pieces Vol. 1” I would consider skipping. Moving away from the more dub sound of “No Shortcuts”, “Beatz and Pieces Vol. 1” is reminiscent of his earlier work. This album is a delicious blend of soul, funk, jazz and blues all laid upon of some of the best beats you will hear all year.

“Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1” is available to download at Pretty Lights Music, but make sure to donate!
